چکیده

Different types of recycled plastic have been used in concrete and most studies focused on the behaviour a single type plastic. However, separating wastes increases cost time processing. To tackle this problem, research presents an experimental investigation to determine effect incorporating different combinations three waste aggregates—Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP)—at replacement ratios coarse aggregate physical mechanical properties concrete. The include two at 10% 20% 15% 30% ratios. performance was assessed based various including workability, fresh dry densities, air content, compressive, indirect tensile flexural strengths, modulus elasticity, stress-strain ultrasonic pulse velocity. It is found that workability Mixed Recycled Plastic Concrete (MRPC) low rate independent minimum reduction compressive strength, elasticity were achieved by R3 (PET + PP) replacement, while R5 (HDPE highest strength velocity values. findings suggest mixed plastics good possibility partially replace aggregates which will benefit recycling community environment. Furthermore, study provide guidance industry concerning implementation unsorted as production

Recycled Plastics as Coarse Aggregate for Structural Concrete

The use of plastic is increasing day by day, although steps were taken to reduce its consumption. This creates substantial garbage every day which is much unhealthy. A healthy and sustainable reuse of plastics offers a host of advantages. The suitability of recycled plastics as coarse aggregate in concrete and its advantages are discussed here. The initial questions arising of the bond strength...

Mathematical Model for Predicting Stress-Strain Behaviour of Bacterial Concrete

Bacillus subtilus, a mineral precipitating microorganism, when introduced into concrete produces calcium carbonate crystals which seals the micro cracks and pores in the concrete. This process imparts high strength and durability to bacteria treated concrete along with enhancement in other mechanical properties. In order to study one such mechanical property, the stress-strain behavior of bacte...

The Fire Resistance Performance of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Columns with Different Concrete Compressive Strengths

In order to ascertain the fire resistance performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) components with different concrete compressive strengths, four full-scaled concrete columns were designed and tested under high temperature. Two of the four specimens were constructed by normal concrete with compressive strength ratings of C20 and C30, respectively, while the others were made from recycle...
